My Problem With Credit Cards

I once once a person who could only get a credit card for bad credit. Why? Because I got a hold of my first credit card when I was only 15 years old and through some bad purchases and late payments I caused myself to be hit up with a bad debt rap sheet which took me years to clean.Unfortunalty, many young people today have this same problem and it is because we basically don’t know any better.

Credit Cards For Bad Credit Should Not Always Be The Answer!

Lets face it, our economy is a debt ridden one. From the moment you are a consumer you are taught that debt and borrowing are okay. I mean, the government is 15 trillion dollars in debt, what can be the harm of it personally? The main problem I am trying to get at is people are not taught, from an early age, how to control their spending and not rack up tons of debt. Debt can ruin your life, not only your material life but also your personal life.

Children should be taught from a young age how to use and when to use credit cards. Credit cards should only be used to when making purchases which can be paid off in a very short period. You should never use your credit card to make purchases which you can’t repay in the short term. A simple purchase which cost you 100 dollars could cost you 1000 dollars or more with in a year. Unfortuantly, rudimentary finance is not a thing which is made a priority in today’s education system and therefore young people (like me) make mistakes which they end up paying for for years afterwards.

If you are thinking about getting a credit card any time soon, make sure you look into it thoroughly. Find the best card with the best options, set a limitation which you can afford to pay off and use it wisely.
